History/general species info: Found by Greg Grant in a small central Texas cemetery on the grave of Henry Duelberg..
Characteristics: Texas Superstar®. A variety of the mealy cup or blue sage. Perennial.. Spikes of showy blue flowers. Texas tough. Salvias are considered the #1 plant for Hummingbirds with their tubular flowers designed for pollination.

Flower: Purple
Planting / Care: Low maintenance. Heat, drought and humidity tolerant. Deer resistant. Evenly moist, well drained soils. A general fertilizer in spring and summer will produce more flowers, but unnecessary if soil has good fertility. Maintain two inches of mulch. Cut to ground after first frost and mulch over for winter. The plant will reseed itself after established and seedlings are easily transplanted to other areas in the garden. Suitable for containers that are 3 gallon and larger.
